Takeaway coffee – COVID-19 update

I am very much a coffee lover. This entire blog started out as a guide of my favorite cafes in New York, and I kept giving recommendations when I moved and traveled atound the world. However, since the entire COVID-19 crisis, and most cafes closing their doors, I haven’t given any recommendations. I decided to dedicate today’s post to the coffee shops in Edinburgh that are still open for a takeaway. This list is probably not a complete one, but it does include all the place I know of that serve takeaway coffee (social distance measures in place, of course).

New Town:

Lowdown Cafe – this is one of Edinburgh’s most famous third wave cafes. Their coffee is just yummy, and they are open for you to grab coffee and cake. Last week they were open from Thursday to Sunday from 10am-3pm, but check out their IG for updates.

Archipelago – this great bakery is now selling breads, baked goods and also ethical coffee. Go visit them from Monday to Saturday 8:30am-4pm, and don’t forget to get a carb refill while you are at it.
